About Us  (also Find us on Facebook)

Romantic and Nostalgic

Jan de la Rosa, owner-artist, has an eye for romance: cottage decor, shabby chic textures, floral fabrics, intricate handwork, whimsical garden ornaments, nostalgic jewelry and apparel.

She loves to embellish, using vintage objects and materials to create magical, one-of-a-kind works of art: collages, jewelry, scarves, nostalgic shadow boxes, charming hats, apparel and accessories.

Dave de la Rosa, the office manager and all-around handyman, is also the resident musician and music buyer.  Expect to be treated to romantic, relaxing or nostalgic music while visiting the store.  The CDs that you hear can be purchased, and you can usually find a basket of sale CDs that have been extracted from Dave’s personal collection.

During special events, like Christmas Open House, or the annual April Fool’s Day Red-Tag Sale & Pajama-Romp, you’ll usually find Dave behind an acoustic guitar and microphone, and occasionally, there may be guest musicians as well.

Our newest event, a Romantic Valentine Celebration, is held the week before Valentine’s Day, and includes sweet treats, door prizes, and Dave singing romantic love songs.

Our Store History

In 1984, Jan & Dave opened Honeysuckle Hollow on Main Street in Historical Downtown Hendersonville. Their playful spirits, along with their supportive staff, flourished there for twenty-one years.

They ultimately became a shopping tradition for locals and tourists alike.  Local customers love to share the experience of Honeysuckle Hollow with their out-of-town guests and visiting family, and customers from all over the country make a point of stopping in anytime they visit Hendersonville.

Being Here, Now

In 2005, as a result of the Main Street building being sold to investors, Honeysuckle Hollow was forced to relocate.  Our new home on Haywood Road is fun, has parking, and is a fine place to carry on the tradition.

Jan is consistently dreaming up new decorating ideas, and working as a team, she and Dave find ways to make them a reality.

Stop in and see what’s new.  There is very likely something unusual blooming in Jan’s garden, and new merchandise arrives most every day.

Jan sits on her bed in front of the stained-glass church window, reborn as headboard, which is incorporated in the wall separating the bedroom and bathroom.  The window, allowing light to pass from both directions, is an illuminated focal point for both rooms.
